Jestology™ is our philosophy that underpins everything we do. The role of fun, laughter, storytelling and entertainment in leadership is absolutely critical.

Leaders who laugh and have fun and who help others to laugh and enjoy themselves are always loved. In our experience where there’s little laughter, there’s little success too. Here at Team Jester, we don’t take life too seriously. What we do is serious business but we always have a good time along the way.

But if you’re thinking that the Jester was just all about the fun then think again. Not everybody knows this but in history, the jester was about so much more than storytelling and entertainment. The jester was a symbol for common sense and honesty and in many situations was the only one who would dare deliver news of the worst kind to the king. The court jesters were actually used for insight and advice and would use their licence to speak freely to dispense frank observations and highlight the folly of the monarch.

So yes, Jestology™ is about fun, story-sharing, entertainment and laughter in leadership and making that a fundamental part of how you lead. But equally as important it’s about collaboration, facilitation, challenge, speaking freely and over and above everything else – honesty.
